  1. bat_57 – The Lee’s are well remembered. In the 10 minutes I was there, there were 4 or 5 groups all speaking something other than English and a bulked up American reciting a prayer . There was probably $5 in change, handwritten poems, newspapers, beer, pot and lots of flowers of course.

More photos at my “website” link.

  2. Do I get extra points for having the only Bob in the country that wears a cowboy hat. 🙂

  3. As a former plow boy from Wisconsin, it warmed my heart to see the old school Yamaha with the aux tank still kickin’ butt and takin’ names. Way to go.

  4. Some photos have a description or title. How can I do that with my photos?

  5. We have to do that on the back end. Unfortunately, we’re getting so many pics that I can’t keep up with that. I may go through and label them over the weekend. No promises though.

  6. My work schedule allows me a bit of riding time and being in Central Delaware means that I can’t turn around without hitting a historical spot.

  7. @02TAC good for you. So far this has been loads of fun. I’m finding places close to home I never knew existed.

  8. I wonder how many post offices I can hit in the 2500 miles to Pennsylvania 🙂 I don’t think I have ever seen a covered bridge in Cali. Now I have to find one.

  9. Thanks for the link to the covered bridges — I’d thought the one in Felton was the only one. 😀 Guess I’ll have to head back into the Santa Cruz mountains again soon, bummer. 😉

  10. Sadly I don’t think there are any covered bridges in Florida. I found one that is actually in Disney itself, sadly Disney security tends to get a little upset when you ride your bike through a crowd.

I did however find an elevation sign.

  11. Nice to see a mention of the covered bridge in Felton CA…..that’s my home town….don’t know if I’ll make it back there before the equinox, though…..
I’m enjoying the new twist to my rides, but I gotta say…out here in the Nevada desert you gotta ride a lot of miles between towns…..good fun, though….

  12. Hi James Reazer,
I was just looking through some of the photos and saw your sportster and fire station pic. I was shocked when I realized it was the station I work at. pretty cool!

  13. The craziest problems crop up taking rally pictures. First, my heavy stock placard kept blowing away, even with the most gentle breeze (don’t get me started on trucks driving by!). I’m now trying a photo-magnetic sheet, but that only wants to stick firmly on my tank. Next, I discovered that a suspiciously large number of “roadside” objects are where there is little or no shoulder, leading to the need for creativity on where to park the bike. However, the bottom line is… I’m riding, having fun, and enjoying many of the other submissions! Thanks everyone!

  14. Thanks, oldsport. If anyone else feels like making one it’s pretty easy. You can also export it as a KML file, so I could add your points to my map or vice versa.

Also, I sent an e-mail on this already, but please remove and don’t count the last picture on the first page of my gallery (East Lawn Cemetery). Research shows it’s only 80 years old, and I don’t want to cheat!

  15. Finally got a few pics sent in, not posted in my gallery yet. Shocked to find others playing in Central IL. Bombsquad83 is just north of me in Bloomington and I saw pictures from the Petersburg IL area by Sarah.

  16. Sarah, I think I saw your Ninja 250 on Craigslist not that long ago. Is it new to you or were you trying to sell?

  17. Yup, I’m down in Decatur. I was in Bloomington twice this week, my oldest son graduated from ISU yesterday.
