What is working very well for me as far as GPS options go, my phone Samsung Galaxy 3, I know you want the waterproof deal, but thats just not a deal breaker for me. It is mounted via the Ram X-grip (This thing: http://www.rammount.com/Products/XGriptradeMounts/tabid/4687/Default.aspx)

These big buttons are easy to press with gloves on. to select my audiobook player, maps, etc.

It is pretty darned simple to get my maps from Google straight into my phone :

I truly like this setup so much more than the cheaper Garmin Nuvi route or some other gps unit without bluetooth.
