We’re giving it away. All of it. Every single bit. Well, every single bit of the Grip Puppies, that is. Both of them. That’s right... the pair. Then we move on to this week’s product review: The Bilt Storm Jacket from Cycle Gear. Say what you will; they’re making some decent stuff.
Are we spending too much for our GPSes? Hmmm.... could be. Fish eye? Get it here, now with more competing products. And if you think Ford is doing some cool stuff, stay tuned; they just went Open! Triumph gets sporty on the Tiger, and hey... feedback, feedback, feedback!
James will pick the winner of the grip puppies - Scott Pfeiffer
What’s there to say about this week’s show...? Well, Chris says we’re wasting fuel in racing, but the consensus is what he really means is, the PERCEPTION is that fuel is being wasted on racing, meanwhile bike MFGs are making bikes that go faster, harder, more and bigger, but there’s no priority being put on MPG. So, ya know, don’t hate the guy for his comments. James and Chris both have work to do on their SVs and thank goodness the weather is only in the low 90s so they won’t die of heat stroke working on the bikes.Lower cost Raptors in the US...? Yes. And even factoring in US-based labor. Go figure. Ride to Work Day is coming up, so we’re going to see all The Pace Podcast’s listeners on the road on June 18th, right? RIGHT? Yes, of course we are. The good news is, Garmin has released the new Zumo with lifetime maps. Now you have NO excuse not to ride to work, right? RIGHT?
Good. I’m glad that’s settled. Oh, and there are some juicy links to various things... check ‘em out.
This week the guys bring you a plethora of... well, they talk a lot. Home modified iPhone mounts. GPS it with Navigon: redux. James’ Sena saga may finally be over. Here’s hoping. April is the AMA’s Get Out And Ride Month, which means The Pace’s loyal listeners are just doing what they do every day. Right? RIGHT? Get out and ride. Go on, get out of here, kid.
Triumph is 110 years old. Bonnie doesn’t look a day over 60, and man oh man, does she wear it well. Want to get an idea of how you’ll sit on a couple of hundred bikes? Hit up Cycle-Ergo.com and check out the comparisons. Very nice feature. Armored underwear is awesome, and Knox has what you need.
The guys follow up the news with some listener questions and feedback.
James tells us about his new top case, finally delivered and installed by Triumph, and how it brings a completeness and whole-life synergy to his commuting and luggage-using lifestyle. (don’t mind me, I’ve been in a lot of marketing meetings lately)
The guys discuss the local weather lately, and how the strange yellow ball in the sky has finally returned to rain down its lovely light upon us all (or some wacky stuff like that), infusing us all with positive energy, and bringing forth new ways of looking at the sky as a metaphor for life. (somebody stop me)
James also talks about the limits of the Teiz Commute suit in the weather, and then gives us all some information on a few of the farkles he’s added to his bike and smart phone, bringing synergy and convergence to.... ya know, I just don’t really know how to complete that sentence without it sounding like a marketing slogan from some non-descript “business consulting firm†that never really explains what they do and charges you $550 per hour for the convenience of that lack of understanding.
So we’re not going to do that.
Because we can’t charge you.
The guys also talk about the new Honda cross-genre bike being developed for the world market. Since the new machine is named after one of the Acura car models, and Honda being a division of the Honda corporation, we see that synergy taking shape in the form of... wait, sorry... I’m doing it again.
Yamaha cements their place in the 2012 US motorcycle marketplace by redefining market expectations with its strong commitment to legacy and the common paradigm, while envisioning a new tomorrow with... DAMN IT! Stop it. Yeah, Yamaha announces the 2012 models.
Links, in synergistic symbiosis with the digital... STOP IT!!!
Ep 55 for Dec 5th, 2010
With a visit and a little help from Prubert Claus, James & I bring you some selections from our Holiday Gift List. We highlight some things that we have and can recommend, as well as make some suggestions that we... er... your loved ones would like to see under the tree. With our... uh... the listeners’ best interests in mind, we try to offer some suggestions that span the range of usefulness and silly, and at all the typical price points. Just for the record, I’m going to need tires by spring and I’m thinking a nice set of Pilot Road 2s in your standard 120/180 pairing would be great. Ya know... as an example.
We also bring you some suggestions from the listeners by way of email and voice mail, and Prubert weighs in with some great additional ideas.
