This week the boys are discussing... well, there's lots of talk about Sena and Bluetooth communications. So, there's that for news. Ok, ok... it's a light week for news. But they have lots of feed back, opinions and the occasional wise crackin' joke.
Chris reviews the Power Trip Dakota II jacket. Editor's note: Chris's closet currently contains a Power Trip Dakota II jacket for a whomping $24, and a BiLT Typhoon jacket for colder & wetter riding, for a killer $89. It's not that he's cheap, mind you, but... Ok, maybe he is. A little.
After the news and reviews, the guys go on to the feedback and wow, is there a lot of it. Keep the feedback rolling in! It makes the boys feel like they're doing something special. Boosts their Internet motorcycle maven street cred, as it were. Anyway, yeah... feedback.
Not just anyone can own and wear deer skin on their hands. No, wait... that’s not right. Anyone can. All you need to do is buy some Tour Master gloves. And that’s what Chris did. Again. Frustrated with affordable summer gloves that fit is oddly shaped mutant mitts, he went with what he knows and got another pair of Tour Masters. And he likes it that way!
Is Yamaha’s new parallel twin engine too big? Only James knows for sure. But he’s loving the new KTM390, so that should give you an idea. And speaking of right sized... Motus unveils the final production machines, and at almost 1700CCs of torquey monster power, surely that’s the right size to get it done, right?
The guys wrap up the show by giving props to a very, very cool Ryca conversion on a $500 Craigslist Savage. Check out the pictures, but don’t get too close. It’s a Lycan, after all.
We’re giving it away. All of it. Every single bit. Well, every single bit of the Grip Puppies, that is. Both of them. That’s right... the pair. Then we move on to this week’s product review: The Bilt Storm Jacket from Cycle Gear. Say what you will; they’re making some decent stuff.
Are we spending too much for our GPSes? Hmmm.... could be. Fish eye? Get it here, now with more competing products. And if you think Ford is doing some cool stuff, stay tuned; they just went Open! Triumph gets sporty on the Tiger, and hey... feedback, feedback, feedback!
James will pick the winner of the grip puppies - Scott Pfeiffer
The Pace celebrates the fact that the world didn’t end with a triumphant return to the Interwebs... ALL the Interwebs... with episode 134. 1 + 3 = 4. There’s some significance there. If anyone knows any Mayans, please let them know I have some weird math thing that needs lookin’ at.
Meanwhile, we give you some product (and place!)reviews, some news, some speculation, some incredibly insightful and well-reasoned discussion, and we answer all your feedback questions with the same poise, dedication and flawless logic that has seen The Pace paving everything in their way and leaving a wake of tears, uncertainty and dou.... no, wait. None of that is right.
Well, the feedback part is right. We try, anyway. Welcome to 2013, the first year of the rest of your life.
This week we talk about the (apparently?) finalized Audi-Ducati deal. Chris is convinced the status-quo will continue being all quoey, while James thinks there's going to be some change. Good? Bad? Time will tell. I don't think the guys need to enter a to-the-death cage match to prove who's right. Probably for the best. We don't have any mops around the Pace studios to clean up the mess.
Ryca gets right on with documenting the new street tracker build and it's shaping up nicely! Check it out. Also, it's like zip car for scooters. Good idea? Only San Francisco will know for sure. We have high hopes for this venture, and maybe this could set a trend for the future.
Why, exactly would you put nitrogen in your tires? We don't know but we do know how to zip a zipper. J.D. Power tells us that Icon helmets are just as good as Arai. There may be a new VStrom, there may be a new sporting V4 from Honda and we definitely have a load of feedback.
