This week we are joined by our friend Nagi. Nagi is from India and has spent the last 10 years in the United States. We discuss the differences between being a motorcyclist in the USA and being a motorist in India. Nagi helps us understand how 2-wheeled travel is just a way of life in India, vs. the apparent "toy" or recreational nature of motorcycling in the USA.

Nagi also points out the differences in long-term ownership here and abroad, and how small-displacement engines are the norm in India, compared to the big, powerful machines we typically see here in the US. Before moving to America, Nagi rode bikes typically in the 125cc range, whereas here in America, Nagi is riding a Suzuki GSXR750 and a Honda Shadow VLX 600.

---

I had a great time with this discussion, I learned a lot and I feel like I have a better understanding of just how toy-like the US considers bikes.

Quite a good episode this week. Hits the feed tomorrow.

Good show guys.  It was interesting to hear about motorcycles and scooters in India.

A friend of mine at work went to India a couple of months ago to visit family.  He hurt his knee in a motorcycle accident.  He was driving a 250cc and dropped it on a hill.  His mom on the back of the bike and also got banged up too.

Anyway, he's still recovering.  He walks with a slight limp and doing leg exercises each day.  I guess his motorcycling skills were a little rusty since he's lived in the US for over eleven years.
